Nicotine pouches have quietly become one of the most popular ways to take nicotine without smoke or vapour, and we get asked about them every day. Here is the plain rundown.
A pouch is a small, soft white sachet that you tuck under your top lip. There is no tobacco in it, no smoke and no vapour. The nicotine is absorbed gently through your gum over twenty to thirty minutes, then you bin the pouch. Nobody around you would even know you were using one, which is a big part of the appeal.
They come in a range of strengths and flavours, from light to strong and from mint and fruit through to coffee. If you are new to them, start on a lower strength, because one that is too strong can feel like a bit much at first. Pop one in, leave it be, and let it do its thing rather than chewing it.
Who are they for? Mostly people who already use nicotine and want an option for the times vaping is not convenient, on a flight, in an office, at a match, anywhere you cannot step out for a vape. Plenty of people use them alongside vaping rather than instead of it.
Here is the bit worth knowing on cost. The new Vaping Products Duty that lands in October 2026 applies to e-liquid only. Pouches are not e-liquid, so the duty does not touch them. That said, the Tobacco and Vapes Act brings in an 18-only age of sale on all nicotine products, pouches included, from around the end of October 2026, so expect to be ID checked just like anything else.
We stock our own Ecig Switch pouches in a range of flavours and strengths across the counter. If you fancy trying them, come and tell us what you are after and we will point you to a sensible starting strength.
