What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your device when you visit it. Cookies do lots of useful things — they let websites remember your preferences, keep you logged in, or remember what is in your shopping cart. Some are essential to making the site work; others are optional and we only use them with your consent.
How we manage cookies
When you first enter Ecig Switch, our age-verification notice explains that by entering the site you accept our use of cookies. We do not show a separate cookie pop-up. You stay in control: you can view, block or delete cookies at any time through your web browser settings, and most browsers let you refuse non-essential cookies or warn you before one is stored.
Categories of cookie we use
- Strictly necessary — these make the site work. They include WooCommerce session cookies, the cart, login state, the age-confirmation cookie (so you don’t get asked every page) and the cookie-consent record itself. These do not require your consent and cannot be turned off.
- Functional — remember preferences such as language, region or display settings. Optional.
- Performance / analytics — help us understand which pages are popular and where visitors come from, so we can improve the site. We use Google Analytics via Site Kit. Optional, off until you accept.
- Marketing — we do not currently run any marketing or advertising cookies. We do not currently set marketing or advertising cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy first.
Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by services we use rather than by us directly. The main ones are:
- Google (Analytics, Search Console via Site Kit) — anonymised analytics about how the site is used.
- Viva Wallet — may set cookies during the checkout process to help complete your payment securely.
- YouTube / Vimeo — if any pages embed videos in future, those services may set their own cookies. None embedded today.
These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to read.
Browser controls
All major browsers let you block, accept or delete cookies through their settings. The exact steps differ per browser — search “manage cookies in your web browser” for the latest instructions. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will break parts of the site (you won’t be able to log in or check out).
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove tools. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent change.
